Parc National des Volcanoes has its best time to trek the gorillas as well as tracking the Chimpanzees of Nyungwe forest.
Rwanda is one well known destination that offers the most magnificent view in Africa. Virunga Volcanoes is acknowledged to be the perfect place for Mountain gorilla tracking. Forest of Nyungwe is among the biggest mountainous forests located in Central Africa. It’s a famous home for big groups of Colobus monkeys along with chimpanzees. The climate is favorable for all year around visits.
Due to its high altitude, Rwanda has a lovely tropical highland climate, with its temperature that ranges from 14°C (25°F). Take note that temperatures may differ significantly from area to area because of the difference in altitude. Daytime average temperature is close to 30°C apart from the highlands where it’s noticed to be very cold. Rwanda has four seasons: short dry season from December to mid-March, long dry period from mid-May to mid-October, Short rains from mid-October to November and Long rains from mid-March to mid May. The northeastern part of Rwanda receives more rain compared to any other parts of the country. Traveling during the rainy season is also adventurous, the scenery is amazing and the flora lush can be perfect for photography of both nature and the gorillas. Therefore there is no specific time to visit Rwanda since each season has its own timing.
Take a safari to see the mountain gorillas that are easily spotted in the volcanoes region of Rwanda. Other animals seen include golden monkeys, buffaloes and elephants. However the best time to see the animals is during the dry period from mid December to March and mid May to mid October. But these can be seen all year around.
Rwanda is a perfect spot for birdwatchers with hard to believe number of close to 670 species confirmed in a region smaller than Belgium. Flora Lush tend to draw thousands of species although sightseeing would be much better during the dry season from mid-December to March and mid May to mid October.

During the peak season, flights costs tend to be high compared to the low season. Park fees are constant all year around. Some lodges offer budget friendly costs during the wet months of March, May, October and November. Other lodges maintain their prices all year around.
